Autofill anomaly

Often when completing a form at a website when buying something or, most recently at USPS tracking a mailing, after entering the first few digits or letters the website recognizes what I've entered at an earlier date and shows the correct information in a box just below the one I'm typing in. But despite the fact that it knows what I'm about to finish typing, it doesn't automatically accept it and I have to keep typing. How do I get it to accept that info?
